Decorating a nursery can be overwhelming. There are so many companies that make different furniture, bedding and decor for a new baby's room. Figuring out where to start can be frustrating! It is exciting to pick out all of the things for your baby's room, but don't forget to focus on safety. Your baby's safety should be the main concern when picking appropriate pieces for the room.
- Pick colors. Although soft colors are very cute, remember that a baby can see bright and bold colors first. Try to incorporate something that is black and white as it will interest your newborn.
- Pick overall theme. This can be based on linens that you like, a piece of art you'd like to hang in the room, or a piece of furniture that you have found that you think is perfect for the nursery.
- Linens - There are many different pricepoints on linens, so be sure to look around for the best deals!
- Furniture - Be sure to check into safety ratings of various furniture pieces, especially the crib. Price and quality are also major factors, look at your local bookstore for books that will help you find deals on quality furniture.
- Accessories - Lighting, Pictures, Artwork, Mobile, Toy Box or baskets, rugs, comfortable chair (nursing/reading), window coverings (room darkening shades for optimal napping time)
